Orhan Bey and Byzantine Dynastic Connections
Nilüfer Hatun
Later Ottoman chronicle tradition associates her with the daughter of Yarhisar’s Byzantine lord; the identification and chronology remain disputed in modern scholarship.
Theodora Kantakouzene
Orhan’s 1346 marriage to Theodora, daughter of Emperor John VI Kantakouzenos, has a firmer historical basis. She remained Christian, and the marriage served directly as a dynastic alliance.
Evripides Martoglou and United Photojournalists

Four Photojournalists
Evripides Martoglou, D. Fotinopoulos, Dimitris Floros and Dimitris Triantafyllou worked together in the United Photojournalists group in Athens. Martoglou’s Lefke birthplace links the town with the history of modern Greek photojournalism.
There is no evidence that the other three photographers were born in Lefke; they are shown as Martoglou’s professional associates.

Nikolaki Ciyof

Âsım Efendi of Sofia
Enforcement officer at the Ertuğrul Sanjak Court of First Instance. The start of his relationship with Roza and his career after 1894 are not securely known.
